Behind the Runway: New York Bridal Fashion Week SS26 & FW26 | New York Wedding Photographer
Twice a year, New York Bridal Fashion Week reminds me why I love this industry. I attended shows and presentations for Berta, Galia Lahav, and Nicole + Felicia — covering both the SS26 and FW26 seasons — and honestly, the level of craft on display was something else.
Berta FW26
Berta showed at their SOHO flagship, and the collection was pure high drama- sculptural corsetry softened by embroidered tulle, strong shoulders against fluid silhouettes, sheer panels over intricate hand-embellished lace. The standout for me was a hooded, all-over sequin gown with a deep plunging neckline, the kind of piece that sits right at the intersection of bridal and high fashion. I was lucky enough to photograph it, and it was even more striking in person.
Galia Lahav FW26
Galia Lahav's FW26 couture collection, Keepsake, was inspired by the Gilded Age and they didn't hold back. The headline piece was the one everyone was talking about: a $1 million wedding gown created in collaboration with diamond jeweler Leibish, centered around a 30-carat natural ruby brooch that's detachable, designed to become a custom fine jewelry piece after the wedding. A true heirloom in the most literal sense. I had the privilege of photographing it, and the craftsmanship is genuinely breathtaking up close. The FW26 showcase also brought the Charmed GALA collection to life: a softer, more ethereal counterpart inspired by blooming gardens and fairytale romance.
Nicole + Felicia's SS26
This showing was absolutely incredible. The artistry and bold designs absolutely spoke for themselves and the SS26 collection was truly a favorite of mine. Founded by sisters Nicole and Felicia Chang in 2015, the brand has built its name on contemporary luxury bridal crafted entirely in their Taipei atelier, and their level of care and intention comes through in every collection. It felt personal in the best way.
